Employee Spotlight: Meet Gina

Gina has been a Paycom sales account manager since February 2009. Recently, I reached out and asked her to share her story.

 Describe what you do.

I help organizations reach their full potential by leveraging technology to improve their employee culture, reduce turnover and become more efficient in everything they do. Some describe me as a Paycom Jedi!

What advice would you give a new employee for being successful at Paycom?

I would tell a new employee to look to others for guidance, but don’t determine your potential from them alone. Find your own stride, find your purpose, trust the process as well as your leaders and success will follow.

What’s the one word you would choose to describe Paycom, and why?

Forward-thinking. Paycom would not be where it is today without anticipating where the HCM technology environment will be 5 or 10 years from where we are now. It is a company that is innovative and ever-changing – that is something I absolutely love about the organization. Because let’s be honest … change creates opportunity and being stagnant is just simply boring.

What is your greatest accomplishment at Paycom?

Employee Spotlight: Meet GinaMy absolute greatest accomplishment to date is making President’s Club 2018. Although it was my 6th President’s Club, and they have all been an honor, I was able to accomplish this particular Club in nine months, since the other three months I was welcoming my second son into the world and taking care of him. Something I always looked up to when I was growing up was how my mom balanced being a supermom and having a successful career, and in 2017 I felt as though I was able to make this a reality for myself.

What makes you proud to work at Paycom?

There’s really too much to mention, but what makes me so proud are the co-workers and clients I have been able to impact and also the impact Paycom has made on who I am today and the lifestyle it has allowed me to pursue. You really get out of it what you put into it each and every day.

Where has been your favorite place to travel, and why?

Costa Rica, hands down. The people there are really some of the nicest, most laid back individuals you will ever meet. The local food is fantastic and it is a place full of adventure. If you are searching for me when I retire, come on over to Costa Rica. I will be running the most popular restaurant there or maybe just lying on the beach!

Who would play you in a movie about your life? Why?

Reese Witherspoon. She is a southern girl, mom and successful career woman. On a side note, I also just love the message she portrays about women in her films and the difference she has made for female filmmakers.

If you could pick anyone in the world to have lunch with, who would it be and why?

The first people that come to mind are my husband’s grandmother whom I never got to meet, and my granddaddy who passed when I was little. They both played big parts in our families, and I would just love to sit down with them and swap stories!
